Toolangi Pinot Noir 2022

RRP: $30.00
SOLD OUT
92 Points - The Wine Front
"This is $30 well spent. In pinot noir terms it has excellent body, it feels silken on the palate, there are spice and autumnal notes in good measure and yet it’s sheeted with dryness, with fine-grained tannin, with finesse. It’s exceptionally easy to be a fan. It’s dry, contained and generous at once. Buy."
- Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front
Tasting Notes: A fragrant Pinot Noir with notes of red plum, rhubarb and warm baking spices. The palate shows both blue and red berry fruits with great depth of concentration from this low yielding season. The tannin is what elevates this pinot, making it perfect for pairing with food.
Winemaking Notes: Hand-picked on 11th March
Partially destemmed as whole berries with 100% of fruit fermented as whole clusters. On skins for 3 weeks then pressed to French oak barriques and puncheons for malolactic conversion. Aged in oak on lees for 10 months prior to bottling.
Viticultural Notes: 2022 will be remembered for the tiniest yields in a decade, resulting from poor flowering conditions in our parts of the Yarra Valley. The quality of the resultant wines of this vintage, however, are outstanding with both concentration and finesse.
