Gourmet Traveller WINE has featured Nick Stock's comprehensive review of the Toolangi Chardonnay 12 Masterclass in the latest issue (August/September 2012).

Nick's in-depth article takes us through the day, bracket by bracket, with an assessment of the 21 wines featured from the Yarra and around the world.

"Knowing how thorough the selection process had been and how strong the local wines have become, there was an air of expectation, excitement and, for winemakers in the room whose wares were in contention, a distinctly nervous edge. An esteemed yet open field meant that success was unpredictable," Nick said.

The Yarra Valley chardonnays "strove confidently through the rest of the group in sharp formation."

Nick said the the tasting's most impressive revelation was that the Yarra Valley had proven identifiable character throughout all three brackets and reached great heights in the process.
