Tasting Notes:
A lively and complex nose of wild strawberries, blood plum, fennel and nutmeg baking spices. The palate pops with bright red fruits of strawberry and cherry, white mushroom and a little ginger. Freshness of fine acid and gentle tannin carry those red fruits long and true.
Winemaking Notes:
Wild Yeast fermented entirely as whole berry, short cold soak, minimal plunging, on skins for 12 days. Pressed to French oak (10% new) for indigenous malolactic conversion, then sulphured on lees. 10 months in oak, then racked twice prior to bottling.

Established in 1995, Toolangi Vineyards is in the Yarra Valley adjoining the Toolangi State Forest. This single site vineyard on fine clay loam produces wines with distinctive personalities, each wine showing a strong sense of place. Low cropped and hand harvested from 18 year old vines of MV6 Pinot Noir clone from the lower section and upper sections of E Block, rows 1-18 and 53-66.
