Tasting Notes:
The 2023 vintage offers aromas of struck match, jasmine, grapefruit, pear, and cedar. On the palate there are juicy nectarines, ripe lime, oatmeal, and the crisp acidity of Granny Smith apple, which is characteristic of this vintage. The length here is great, finishing with saline mineral notes and a little chalky grip.
Winemaking Notes:
Picked on the 4th of March
Vinification & Elevage: Fruit crushed and destemmed, then pressed to French oak (10% new) for fermentation on lees. In oak for 9 months before racking prior to bottling.
Viticultural Notes:
Low cropped fruit of I10V3, Mendoza and Gin Gin Chardonnay clones from 21-year-old vines.
2023 was a vintage where a wet spring provided challenges, yet through hard work and perseverance we enjoyed a mild and kind harvest period that has produced wines of vibrancy and finesse.
